Emmanuel Coumbis graduated as a dental surgeon from the University of Queensland Bachelor of Dental Science in 1985.
His early experiences were in North Queensland where he was responsible for the functioning of School Dental Services in Townsville, Ayr, and Charters Towers.
In 1994, he transferred to the Caloundra Dental Hospital where he worked for 2 years. It was during this time when he realised the best way to treat all his patients was exactly as he treated the children in North Queensland
